My Heart's Desire : The romance of the Mon Desir Hotel, Lake Takapuna
The following presentation is a fictional extract of the diary of a staff member at the Mon Desir Hotel on the corner of The Promenade and Hurstmere Road during the 1930’s. It is based on information given by Babs Bass who worked at the hotel during that era and extracts from her recording for the North Shore Oral History Project have been included in the presentation.
