I read this book a long time ago too. But it's one of those books you can't easily forget. Ruby Yarrow, is nothing remarkable. She's an average student, except for English, as she has dyslexia. Her family, makes her do everything. She cooks and cleans and is forever picking up after her genius brother, Mark. Her friends are forever and always telling her to get off the ground, stop being a doormat and to get a backbone. Ruby figures they're right, she's spent too long on the ground, so she decides to get up, with no small consequences for her family.
