With an introduction by Richard Ingrams (Private Eye) this is a collection of opinions, prejudices and rants about modern life and all its (in)conveniences, aimed at baby-boomers. No gadget is spared, no public service ignored, no lapse in manners forgiven. Individually, the pieces are amusing, sometimes hilarious, but it is a book which is better to dip into than to read it cover to cover. The massed grumbling of the assembled contributors is far too much to cope with all at once.
