Set in Australia in a small mining town, this is a story told through the eyes of a young girl using the first person. The reader glimpses family life falling apart because of the actions of her older sister, and the impact this has on three generations. In parts sad, in parts amusing, this is an engrossing story of how grief affects people’s lives. It is also an intriguing glimpse of life in Australia during the 60s and 70s.
