A beautifully told story of the tragic consequences of the wars in Afghanistan since the Soviet invasion.
A Russian woman, an American ex-spy, a Special Forces soldier and a soldier of the Taliban are together in the home of an English doctor whose wife and daughter have been murdered by the Taliban. Each has their reasons for being in there and the unfolding story gives the reader an insight into a beautiful country continually experiencing tragedy. After reading this I requested another by the same author and a history of Afghanistan.
