A woman travels from New Zealand to Ireland to attend a conference, but is actually on a quest to find her father who walked out on the family when she was a young child and was never seen again.
Layers within the story uncover areas of relationships with family, lover and friends. Limestone is the geological background of Clare’s childhood and alludes to the layers she must delve through to discover the final answers about her father. The book has a sense of mystery about it as Clare gets closer to the answers about her father’s disappearance. Several chance encounters along the way add to the story and the journey to the conclusion is satisfying.
