Jasper is the scapegoat for all minor crimes committed in an Australian town. He finds the hanged body of his girlfriend but knows that his innocence of her murder will not be believed. He asks for Charlie’s help to discover the true murderer. Jasper falls into the trap of believing that a recluse that everyone 'knows' killed a woman has killed again, even though he is also is victim to the town's bigotry.
