When Bunty discovers her husband is having an affair, she is more concerned about how she will maintain the lifestyle she has become accustomed to than sorry that her marriage is about to end. With no money of her own and few work skills, having spent her time as a ‘stay at home’ mum watching daytime television, she plots to replace her errant husband with a newer model, one who is younger, richer and more exciting. This fast-paced story is full of light humour tinged with revenge and enough realism to make you think “yes, that would probably happen to me if I tried it!”. A thoroughly enjoyable read.
I haven't laughed out loud when reading a book for many years but this one had me chuckling every few pages ... somewhat embarrassing as I was on a flight to Napier at the time! With great reluctance I put it aside for most of the week I was visiting my parents but could hardly wait to board the plane home and enjoy an uninterrupted hour with Bunty and her comings and goings.
