This 2010 Motion Picture now released on DVD is based on the book of the same name by Dennis Lehane and directed by Martin Scorsese. Set in 1954, two U. S. Marshals (played by Leonardo Dicaprio and Mark Ruffalo) come to Ashcliffe Hospital for the criminally insane on Shutter Island to investigate the disappearance of a woman inmate convicted of multiple murders. There are whispers of experiments and other sinister activities and, when a killer hurricane hits the island, there is no chance of leaving the island. The centre of the mystery seems to revolve around the isolated lighthouse and to get the answers to their questions, the Marshals must make their way there. But nothing on Shutter Island is as it seems and there are many twists and turns all the way to the end of this psychological thriller.
