A delightful film about Jessica (played by a bright and lovely Cecile de France), who leaves her home in the countryside to live in vibrant Paris. Her grandmother had told her that, as she could not afford to live in luxury, she had worked in it, so Jessica intends to do the same, and uses her natural charm to get a job at an old-fashioned cafe in the theatre district. She gets to meet lots of characters - all doing their best to cope with their lives - including a concert pianist and a television actor. Jessica gets involved in their lives, and realises the real meaning of her grandmother's words. Watching this film, I could feel the French atmosphere and even understood some of the dialogue, when it was at a slow speed!

This film was nominated for 5 French Academy Awards.
It is in French, with English subtitles. It runs for 106 minutes.
