Angels and Demons does not disappoint in contrast to the way its sister film, The Da Vinci Code failed to impress. This version of Dan Brown’s work is much more impressive and creative. We are taken into some of Rome’s darkest corners, while the film explored a historical conspiracy of the Illuminati which threatens to destroy Rome. The cast of the film is also impressive, with Tom Hanks proving to be more in tune with the character of Robert Langdon, and Ayelet Zurer playing a much more productive and believable leading female character than seen in The Da Vinci Code. If you didn’t like The Da Vinci Code, this film may appeal to you as it is more exciting. If you enjoyed Dan Brown’s books, this film is a close and intricate rendition of the book. Ron Howard’s filmmaking once again proves his talent and creative ability to produce an exciting thriller packed with action, art, history and science.
