in history. Also includes over a thousand primary documents.
Discovery
Collection - A comprehensive and eclectic database of history, social
studies, geography, literature and science. Includes timeline, multi-media
gallery and biographical information.
Encyclopedia Britannica Student - Provides students access to high-quality
learning materials. This is searchable, and browsable by topic and also
includes images, video clips, interactive atlases and spotlight history
such as Shakespeare and the Great Barrier Reef.
Opposing
Viewpoints - An e-resource version of the pros and cons research
on social issues such as human rights, race relations, nuclear weapons,
terrorism, gangs and more. Excellent resource for debates.
Student
Resource Centre -Useful for any school assignment in the areas of
history, social studies, geography and world culture, literature and
science.
World Book - Online version of the complete reference encylcopedia
provides all the articles from the print set with audio, video, images,
links and more. This is a dependable choice for students.

archives, galleries, libraries and museums.”

Shore Libraries Capturing the Past Digital Collection - Collection
of digital photos captures New Zealand’s participation in World
War I.
ANZAC A Guide for New Zealanders
- This site presents a “guide for New Zealanders to Anzac Day.”
Includes historical information, maps, images and panorama and access
to other related resources.
Eyewitness to History -
Includes the text of many primary source documents useful for history
projects and papers. It also includes historical photographs and sound
files.
BBC Schools - World
War One - An informative history site for students that uses a variety
of historical sources, literary and newspaper articles about the war,
gallery of images, timeline and interactive games to teach you all about
WW1.
The Great War - A historical
survey of World War I offering timeline, images of maps, photos, commentaries
from historians, a glossary and some related links.
World War
II - Contains an “in-depth examination” of World War
II which features war time memories written by the public, photographs,
a timeline, interactive materials and radio reports.

SparkNotes Study Guide
Economics - This Economics study guide from Barnes and Noble presents
informative texts on selected topics like macroeconomics, microeconomics,
supply and demand, economic news, and a discussion board. May require
membership but is free to join.

InfoNation
- A large collection of up-to-date geographical information socio-economic
information of all member states of the United Nations.
CIA
World Factbook - A searchable site browsable by country that contains
up-to-date information on background profiles, statistical facts and
economic information, maps and images and more.
National Geographic
- This site explores the world covering history, geography and environment
news. It features a site index guide and resources for homework.
