North Shore Libraries’ growing collections of books and magazines in languages other than English reflects the diversity of languages spoken in the city.

The libraries’ largest languages collections are of Chinese, Korean and Japanese titles. These collections are held at the following libraries:



Smaller collections of material in a variety of other languages are held at Takapuna, East Coast Bays and Glenfield Libraries as listed below:

Items from these collections may be read in the library or borrowed and taken home. A circulating item may be requested and delivered to your local library.

If you need help finding what you are looking for, please ask any member of staff. A number of the library staff come from a range of cultural backgrounds and your enquiry will be directed onto the person who is able to help you.
