Angela Morton Collection

The Angela Morton Collection is a reference collection of books and other materials related to New Zealand Art. The Collection is a memorial collection dedicated to the late Angela Morton, who was a North Shore resident devoted to New Zealand Art.

Denny Hulme Automobile Collection

The Denny Hulme collection was established to commemorate New Zealand's only Formula One racing champion (1967), the late Denny Hulme O.B.E. who died in October 1993.

Designed for both motorsport enthusiasts and casual browsers, the collection celebrates New Zealand's golden era of motor racing and beyond, with an exciting array of past and present memorabilia.

New Zealand Collection

The New Zealand collection provides in depth coverage of the history of the North Shore - Te Raki Pae Whenua - and broad historical coverage of Aotearoa - New Zealand. The New Zealand Collection will be developed as a central point for general material relating to the history of New Zealand and specialist resources relating to the North Shore - Te Raki Pae Whenua.

Official Publications

The Official Publications collection supports the need for the North Shore community to have access to government and local government information, law and legislation. In providing this service North Shore Libraries aim to enhance the democratic process and decision making for our residents and provide a source for those wishing to be informed on issues in central and local government. This resource also provides material of educational value to the wider community.

Oral History

Residents have been helping us record the history of the North Shore for a number of years.

Their stories are held in the North Shore Oral History Archive at the Takapuna Library - access is by appointment during Takapuna Library opening hours. Phone 486-8460 and ask for Jacquie Morris or Colleen Christie.

Stack Collection

Takapuna Library's Stack collection is an open access collection containing classic titles, out of print titles, and outdated items but still of value to researchers. The section contains both Fiction and Non Fiction titles. This collection includes a wide range of fiction and non fiction titles including:

• Literature
• Philosophy
• Presidential Speeches

• Jane Austen
• Winston Churchill
• Charles Dickens
• Nevil Shute
• Plato
• J. R. R. Tolkien

Note: Old New Zealand titles are held in the New Zealand collection, not Stack.

Vertical File

Contains newspaper and magazine clippings on current affairs and general issues. The vertical file is catalogued. A library card is required to access the clippings. Topics include:
